Dwayne Whitaker: the conversation
Mornings in the Lab · Interview transcript
We're about to welcome someone special to the lab. A man who spent a lifetime making other people feel safe. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, service wasn't a phase for him. It was a standard. CID special agent worked across New Jersey, Germany, South Korea, and beyond. He's handled pressure most people only watch in movies. Over 10 years in the US Army, including military police at West Point. That kind of discipline doesn't talk loud. It shows up on time. And yes, he's Cheryl Whitaker's husband. Dwayne, welcome to Mornings in the Lab. We're honored you're here. >> Dwayne. Dwayne. >> Oh, yo, what's up, guys? Good morning. Good morning. >> How are you? >> Yes, we made it. You made it in with us, my friend. How are you, pal? >> Oh, man. Happy to be here, meet you guys, and pleasure to meet you, John. Excited to hang out with you guys, man. I got to say, brother, now that I didn't know what you did until today, right? And so Sher was telling a story about you guys and it was somewhere early on and when you'd met and somehow there was a little bit of a conflict, let's call it, and you said to her something, the fact of, 'I want peace.' And now with knowing what you do or what you did makes perfect sense. >> Yeah. No, I mean that's crazy because I always say I'm a seeker of clarity, but if you think about it, clarity is just another way to find your own peace, you know. >> Absolutely.
